Talent Maker City Welcomes a RecycleOn Center

The Talent City Creative Hub Now Houses a New RecycleOn Center 

Have you made your way to a makerspace recently? If you’re in Talent, Oregon, let us introduce you to Talent Maker City (TMC), the new home to Talent’s first RecycleOn Center. 

In partnership with the bustling creative space, residents in Talent can now drop off materials not accepted via curbside recycling. This partnership between RecycleOn Oregon and TMC is a part of a statewide effort to expand recycling access, reduce waste and build a stronger, more convenient recycling system.  

“I’m super excited about the RecycleOn Center getting set up at our makerspace. It pairs well with the creative community services we provide at Talent Maker City.” Said Kolby Schooley, Operations Director. “A lot of our programs include hands-on making, repurposing materials, and building a prosperous, resilient community.  We care a lot about sustainability, so the RecycleOn Center fits right in! Already, people walking by have had a ton of curiosity, interest, and excitement about this service being offered in a central downtown location.” 

This collaborative effort helps drive Oregon’s new recycling system forward, with service providers like TMC helping make recycling easier and more accessible for every community.  

At TMC, not only can you join a creative workshop and learn all about reusing and repurposing materials, but you can also bring materials not accepted by curbside recycling and know they are a new future recycled product. The RecycleOn Center is open to all regardless of TMC participation. Check out the RecycleOn Center page to learn what’s accepted.  

The next time you take a lid off a yogurt container, know there is a dedicated drop-off location in Talent ready to accept it. Thanks to Oregon’s Recycling Modernization Act, the brands and companies that make paper and packaging help fund these Centers, so more materials can be collected and recycled responsibly.
