Did You Know? In 2022, Colorado passed a new program to make it easier for residents to recycle common household packages like yogurt tubs, soda cans, shampoo bottles, cardboard boxes and so much more – all at no cost to residents!
The program will start in 2026, and by 2030, recycling should be just as easy as taking out the trash, no matter where you live. Recycling access will roll out in phases, and RecycleOn.org can help Coloradans connect with a local recycling program. The site will also help Coloradans understand what, how and where to recycle. It’s all happening thanks to the Centennial State’s Extended Producer Responsibility, or EPR, law for packaging and paper.
Connecting with Colorado Communities
Colorado’s new recycling program has big goals. In fact, the new program will more than double the recycling rate of paper and packaging in the state. To make this happen, the team behind RecycleOn will work with local communities and recycling experts to build on what’s already working. And for those communities that need a little extra help, the program will expand recycling infrastructure over time.
Brought to You by Circular Action Alliance
Who’s behind RecycleOn? A nonprofit group called [link-who we are]Circular Action Alliance[/link] was chosen by the State of Colorado to lead the new recycling program.
Because recycling education is such a big part of the program, Circular Action Alliance created RecycleOn.org to help people learn what to recycle, how to do it, and why recycling is important.
As recycling grows across Colorado, RecycleOn.org will offer even more helpful info and links to local communities.
