Curbside Recycling Expands in Winston and Cottage Grove with 5,000 New Recycling Carts

New carts and service upgrades are making recycling easier for Winston and Cottage Grove. 

Eligible households are getting new curbside recycling services, including new recycling carts and clearer information. 

Thanks to an investment of more than $1 million, recycling access is being expanded for about 5,000 households in Winston and Cottage Grove through new carts, service upgrades and resident information. 

This update is part of Oregon’s modernizing recycling system. The update requires the companies that make and sell paper and packaging materials to help pay for recycling improvements across the state. 

Across Oregon, recycling improvements will look different from community to community. In Winston and Cottage Grove, residents will see: 

  • New recycling carts and trucks  
  • Updated educational information 
  • Clearer information about what goes in the recycling bin and where materials go next 

Winston and Cottage Grove are examples of how Oregon’s updated recycling system can support local communities with practical improvements that residents can see and use.
