Coos Bay Welcomes New RecycleOn Center, Expanding Recycling Access in Oregon

Free drop-off site expands recycling access for the Southern Coast Oregon community.

Coastal living is pretty amazing. In Coos Bay, that coast life just got an upgrade! RecycleOn Oregon, in partnership with West Coast Recycling (a Waste Connections company), welcomes a new RecycleOn Center that expands recycling options for Coos Bay residents.

Unlike other RecycleOn Center openings, the Coos Bay site helps bring expanded recycling access to Oregon’s Southern Coast. For residents in coastal communities, that means more options close to home for items that often cannot go in curbside bins.

This new Center is part of Oregon’s modernized recycling system, which boasts a convenient way to recycle materials not accepted in curbside recycling bins.

“At Waste Connections sustainability drives the core of our operations, and through this partnership we’re expanding recycling options for the Coos Bay/North Bend community,” said Mark Fulwiler, Waste Connections District Manager. “This new RecycleOn Center provides an easy way to recycle materials like plastic bags and aluminum foil. While many items are collected at the curb, this new RecycleOn Center will help conserve natural resources and protect the environment.”

Funded by the companies that make and sell paper and packaging under Oregon’s Recycling Modernization Act, the new Center is part of a statewide effort to expand recycling access and help more materials get recycled properly.

Wondering what to bring? Check out the RecycleOn Center page to learn more.

Please bring only items on the accepted list to RecycleOn Centers. This ensures the materials make a smooth trip to responsible end markets that will turn them into something new. Perhaps the next recycled toothbrush you buy could be made from something you drop off at a RecycleOn Center.
